TIPS for FIRST STEPPERS . . . get the edge on your competitors
The recruitment process for a First Steps program is pretty full on, so I’ve made a list of hints to help out potential candidates.
The thing I want to stress is that we are not always looking for the most “Job Ready” people for the program when we are recruiting. If we have applicants who would not benefit from the program (either self development or work readiness) and they are ready to start work, then we refer the candidate directly to our employer for work.
For program participants, we are looking for people who are hungry for change and will fight for this opportunity. We want people who are committed to making a real go of their employment opportunity and the training . . . so show us what it means to you.
