Today we had a GREAT news story from one of our Adelaide participants of a Coles Indigenous Employment program from last year.
When we first met Lee, he wasn’t too sure if working in a supermarket was really what he wanted, but he decided to give it a go. When he met his store manager on the first week of the training, his manager said to him that if he works hard, he can go anywhere in the organisation.
Today Lee did his first shift of being in charge of his department; a big step towards Lee’s career goal of a management position within the business.
We have no doubt that Lee will make it to his goal (and beyond) because of his “can-do” attitude and because he is putting himself out there. His manager knows what Lee wants to achieve and is supporting him in getting there.
